Lukang’s old streets is a reminder of the alternative style the Chinese/Taiwanese culture could have offered the world. Those magical small streets hidden between exceptionally ordinary Taiwanese small-town streets are what – IMHO – Taiwanese cities could have felt like if it wasn’t for the pressure to modernize (/westernize /industrialize).
We started off with a tour of the Lukang Folks Art Museum that’s in a Japanese era built house from the 1920s with some parts dating back to the 18th century.
